4 years 4 months Solving a long outstanding issue where several people encountered crashing snowpack simulations, due to a buggy commit 689!!! Actually, it's just a quick-fix, more code rewrite seems necessary here.

4 years 4 months Improving stability of Richards equation solver with ice layers. We need to limit maximum settling, so we don't get saturated layers.

Commit 743, by Nander Wever
4 years 5 months After running into some snow albedo issues, I saw that the lower limit of snow albedo was provided by the albedo of soil, which is not desirable for a detailed snow model. They are not related. Now snow albedo has its own limits that are enforced.

4 years 5 months Follow up on commit 739: it turns out that adaptive time stepping is more common terminology, so changing the key's name to: ALLOW_ADAPTIVE_TIMESTEPPING.
Commit 740, by Nander Wever
4 years 5 months A big improvement (hopefully) for SNOWPACK. In order to reduce strong oscillations of TSS (see issue 382), a flexible time stepping is introduced for solving the temperature equation when unstable stratification is encountered. See for details the de

Commit 737, by Mathias Bavay
4 years 5 months When pure ice layers are present, richards equation will crash (of course, how to permeate 100% ice with water?). Therefore, we place a hard limit of a maximum volumetric ice content of 99%, ice above this threshold will be melted. This is actually n

4 years 5 months Fixing a bug that is likely of no interest to anyone. But because we can have multiple phase changes in a time step, we should add the change in liquid water content instead of assigning it.

4 years 5 months This brings snowpack-trunk to be an exact copy of snowpack-dev as of revision 733. This therefore includes the new canopy model, the mixed precipitation, the latest water transport and snow temperatures fixes and the latest packaging improvements. Pl
